Extraordinary Situation Proclaimed in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties

On November 9, 2018, Acting Governor Gavin Newsom proclaimed a state of emergency in Los Angeles and Ventura counties due to the effects of the Hill and Woolsey fires which have damaged structures and infrastructure and threatened homes. Consequently, Commissioner of Business Oversight Jan Lynn Owen has determined that an extraordinary situation exists in Los Angeles and Ventura counties and has issued a proclamation authorizing state-chartered banks to close any or all of their offices in affected areas until the Commissioner determines the extraordinary condition has ended.
